It’s going down Thursday March 8, 2012 at club RUSH in Sevillas! Club RUSH is the hottest thing in Riverside on a Thursday night. It is just one floor of the entire venue of Sevillas. Thursdays theme is COLLEGE NIGHT aka FAME!!!

I have been to Sevillas many times, and it is mostly a good time. Thursdays are one of the better days in my opinion, because more college students go on this date. I love when clubs have special events like dance battles or special guests because it brings in a better crowd. THIS Thursday they have 5 guest DJs. Music is always current and good here.

Even if you are busy on Wednesday night, you need to try and go to the Branding Iron “BI”. It is an amazing venue with a great DJ, pool tables, and 5 bars. The DJ plays a variety of music for dancing. Although, being that the BI is a country style club there are choreographed line dances throughout the night that are very entertaining to watch as it is to participate. Wednesdays at the BI is “College night” and very popular for 18-25 year olds. The cover is free before 11pm, after 11pm is $5. If you are 18 and over just be sure to get there early to avoid paying the cover.  AND don’t forget your college or milatary ID.

TACO TUESDAY!!!

It’s happening tonight @ Duke’s! Taco Tuesday, MCS “Rock Star” karaoke in the “Front Bar’ and “Back Bar” dancing and grooving with DJ’s Gunblaid and Liquid SexDrive coupled with great drink specials and really cool people you can’t go wrong at Dukes tonight! The fun starts at 9:00pm see ya there!

I have been to Duke’s on many occasions! It is one of my favorite places to be on a Tuesday night, because of the cheap prices, karaoke, atmosphere, and proximity to campus. I love how laidback it is and carefree! When I go with my friends, we sing karaoke in the front bar and go dancing in the back bar. The service is pretty impressive and the drinks are good 🙂 food is pretty good too! I like the crowd also because it is so broad.

Here is the Dress Code:

1. No athletic apparel of any kind or sports team allowed (ie. Jerseys, sports jackets, sweatshirts, jumpsuits, caps, etc.)
2. No bandanas, hairnets, novelty hats, or caps are allowed.
3. Underage drinking is against the law. Persons caught will be turned over to the authorities and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
4. Absolutely no plaid shirts of any kind or style.
5. No plain white shirts or t-shirts.

SALSA Dancing!!! @Sevillas

I LOVE SALSA DANCING!!!!!

I love the passion and sexiness of Salsa dancing, that is why I go to Sevillas on Wednesdays. It is a great way to let loose and have fun. Sometimes the UCR S.A.L.S.A. club goes also, so you can dance with cute college students!

If you have been looking for a salsa club you’ve found it! I would suggest you try this place if you like salsa, because it is spacious as well. Sevillas offers dance lessons at 9 o’clock followed by the club opening at 10 allowing you to try your moves on others. Cover for tonight is $8-$10. But it is worth it to dance the night away until 2 am. SEE YA THERE!!!

REMEMBER……NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!!! if anything recruit a cutie to teach you some moves 😉

HEAT Concert!

The 2012 Annual Heat Music Festival has finally arrived, and if you have received your free ticket you should go and enjoy the free concert! The artist lineup will be The Airborne Toxic Event, Mac Miller, Major Lazer, Chiddy Bang, Iration, Karmin, Fei-Fei, and Secret Panda Society.The concert is from 8PM- 12 AM, but gates will open at 7PM. I went last year and had a cool time. Word to the wise, it gets pretty cold so dress warm! For more information check out the official website: heat.ucr.edu.

UCR’s Homecoming Basketball Game

UCI’s mascot, The Anteater, was burned yesterday at the homecoming bonfire and this game will be the ultimate show when the UCR men’s basketball team will take the win over the UCI Anteaters. I went last year, and the game will be packed with energy. It’s amazing how much school spirit our school has! It is FREE for all students and $10 for everyone else. The gates will open at 4PM but the game will start at 5PM. (Disregard the time on the flyer) Come out and support UC Riverside’s men’s basketball team!!

The Police will be OUT TONIGHT and TOMORROW

This weekend is homecoming for UC Riverside. And we all know this is a time to celebrate and have fun! It is inevitable that there will be a lot of alcohol consumption. But we want everyone to be SAFE and RESPONSIBLE! The UCR police department will be out conducting DUI checkpoints, party patrols and saturation patrols. Lucky for us, the UCR students, we have a program called Safe Ride to avoid getting into sticky situations.

Safe Ride is FREE for all UCR students. There are a few major details though you need to know, in order to use this service.

• It is a one-way ride. You will be taken either to your home or to campus only. ( Unfortunately, not to another party)
• You can receive a ride anywhere within the city limits of Riverside.
• It is only free for those students who have their UC Riverside student ID card present. (If not, you will be charged for the cab fare)
